3views on theater
3Views, an artist-driven publication dedicated to multiple, diverse viewpoints, was preparing to launch when a pandemic hit, forcing theaters across the country to close. 3Views, under the umbrella of the Lillys and leadership of 2020 Editor Melissa Crespo, shifted its mission to highlight canceled and waylaid productions, to gather reflections from theater makers, and to spotlight urgent and helpful initiatives.
As live theater returns, so does 3Views to its original mission with two new co-editors (View Finders) appointed by Melissa: Sarah Rose Leonard and Brittani Samuel. Every month, we will present a minimum of three views on a chosen theatrical work: a review or reflection by a contributor, an inside view with an artist, and a purview (a non-traditional response in the form of a poem, play, drawing, audio, etc).
